The Stockholm archipelago is the largest in Sweden, with more than 30,000 islands, beginning just 20 minutes from the city, in Visit Stockholm’s words. Vaxholm, with its fortress, is the gateway to the inner archipelago; Sandhamn lies in the outer archipelago.

Sandhamn
Sandhamn, in the outer archipelago, is the home of the Sandhamn Seglarhotell.
Our advice: go in summer, when the boats run most often, and take a picnic.
