SL: metro, commuter trains, trams and buses
Touch in with a contactless card or phone, the SL app, an SL card or a paper ticket at the barriers or on board. A single costs SEK 43 (discounted SEK 26); travelcards cost SEK 180 for 24 hours, SEK 360 for 72 hours and SEK 470 for 7 days. The penalty fare without a valid ticket is SEK 1,850 plus the fare.
To and from Arlanda
Arlanda Express runs every 12–15 minutes and takes 18 minutes; a ticket is valid on any departure. SL commuter trains to Arlanda need the airport passage fee (SEK 157) on top of an SL ticket.
The archipelago boats
Waxholmsbolaget runs the boats of the archipelago from Strömkajen. SL tickets are valid all year between Strömkajen and Vaxholm, Rindö and Tynningö; holders of an SL travelcard of 30 days or more can use all of Waxholmsbolaget’s boats from 14 September to 29 April.
The new metro
Region Stockholm is building 30 kilometres of new metro track and 18 new stations, all underground; we give no opening dates until the project publishes them (nyatunnelbanan.se).
Across the Baltic
Tallink Silja sails to Finland, Estonia and Åland, and Viking Line on the routes between Sweden, Åland and Finland; see their own websites for timetables.
