About Drottningholm Palace

Drottningholm Palace, on the island of Lovön in Lake Mälaren, has been the King and Queen’s private residence since 1981; the rest of the palace and park are open to visitors. The Royal Domain of Drottningholm has been preserved intact since the 18th century, with its court theatre and Chinese Pavilion, and UNESCO added it to the World Heritage List in 1991, as the Royal Court describes it.
