In the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, Frantzén, on Klara Norra Kyrkogata, holds Three Stars, the only table in Stockholm to do so, and AIRA, on the water at Djurgården, holds Two. Nine more hold One Star, from the Royal Opera’s Operakällaren and the Grand Hôtel’s Seafood Gastro to Ekstedt’s open fire and the counters of Dashi and Sushi Sho. Around them are the Bib Gourmands, the city’s best value, and the classic dining rooms where Stockholm eats its herring, meatballs and toast skagen.
The starred tables
Frantzén (Three MICHELIN Stars, 2026) is on Klara Norra Kyrkogata; AIRA (Two Stars) is at Biskopsvägen 9 on Djurgården. One Star: ADAM ALBIN, Nour and Operakällaren in Norrmalm; Seafood Gastro at the Grand Hôtel; Ekstedt and ergo. in Östermalm; Dashi, Sushi Sho and Etoile in Vasastan; and Celeste on Södermalm.
Bib Gourmand
The 2026 Bib Gourmands are Matbaren at the Grand Hôtel, Rolfs Kök, Allegrine, ÄRLA, Babette, Lilla Ego, Bar Agrikultur and Triton.
Book the starred tables weeks ahead; for the classics, book for lunch.
The classic dining rooms
Den Gyldene Freden in Gamla Stan has served guests since 1722, in its own words; Pelikan has been a restaurant in its Jugend rooms on Blekingegatan since 1904; Sturehof opened on Stureplan in 1887; Ulla Winbladh, on Djurgården, is in the MICHELIN Guide for its Swedish cooking.
Swedish food
Look for the smörgåsbord, köttbullar with lingonberries, pickled herring, gravlax and Janssons frestelse; in December, the julbord.
Our advice: see our article on Swedish cuisine for the dishes to look for.
